General
Q: Dynamic Site Stats generates a report
about activity on my Web server. Where does it get the information? A:
Dynamic Site Stats relies on the small JavaScript that gathers information from
all visitors on your site. This JavaScript sends data to our servers, where it
is analyzed and stored in a database. Reports are created by querying the data
stored in this database. Q: When are my reports available for viewing?
A: Your reports should be available within minutes of adding our code to
your Web pages, and from that point on are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, 365 days a year. Regularly, we perform maintenance task on our servers.
During these periods statistics are not available, however, the service still
collects data from your site. Q: I have multiple virtual domains.
Can I create reports for each domain? A: Yes. You can create separate
sites for each of your virtual domains, and report independently on them. Note
that if you use Dynamic Site Stats to track traffic for separate businesses, Dynamic
Site Stats License
Agreement and Terms of Service requires that you create separate accounts
for each business. Q: What if I want others to see my reports?
A: No problem! User Management allows you to add multiple users who can
view your report just by typing in their e-mail addresses and names.
Q: Is Dynamic Site Stats accurate? A: Dynamic Site Stats is based on
a modification of traditional logfile analysis, such as Analog, http-analyze etc.
While not all browsers provide each piece of information that we report on (2.x
and 3.x browsers in particular), this service is able to track users thorough
Proxy Servers (such as AOL), thereby increasing accuracy when reporting on user
information. Q: How many pages can I report on per site?
A: As many as you want! There are no limitations placed on you at all.
Implementation Q: What will
I need to do to implement the service? A: You'll need to insert
a small piece (2 lines) of tracking code into your web pages. The code won't be
visible to your visitors and there is no need to display a banner.
Q: Will the Dynamic Site Stats code cause any damage to my web site or will it
interfere with existing tracking utilities? A: No. Dynamic Site
Stats is an invisible tracking service and it won't interfere with any other software.
Q: Will this service slow down my Web pages? A: No.
While you add a JavaScript for communication with our servers, the time required
by these new activities is measured in fractions of seconds and should not be
noticeable by your visitors. Our company maintains multiple Internet connections
for this service. Additionally, our servers are top of the line servers with redundant
hard-drives that are load-balanced, backed up, and maintained by the experts of
our web hosting company to guarantee maximum up-time. Q: Does the
service work behind a corporate firewall? Can I track extranet traffic? A:
Yes, however, we recommend you try it in your environment before you make
a purchase. Q: Can I use Dynamic Site Stats on secure pages? A:
Yes. Dynamic Site Stats provides you with code that is specifically designed
to track traffic on SSL (Secure Socket Layer) pages. SSL code should go into any
page that resides in a secured directory or server. Signing
